Care Leavers Service

Our service is for Oxfordshire County Council Care Leavers.

What does being in care mean?

Being in care means you are living in foster care, in a children’s home, or in a secure unit.

When you are in care, the place where you live might have been provided by Children’s Social Services or by another organisation.

Who is a Care Leaver?

You are a Care Leaver if you have been in the care of the Local Authority for 13 weeks or more after your 16th birthday.

Who isn’t a Care Leaver?

If you have lived for 6 months or more in your family home after your 16th birthday, you are not a Care Leaver.
